Stormy Sky, Space Needle, Seattle, Washington, America - The Space Needle observation tower is an iconic symbol of Seattle, standing at 605 feet high, completed in 1961. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair. It has a rotating SkyCity restaurant at 500 feet. The downtown skyline, Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Elliott Bay and surrounding islands can be viewed from the top. I took this photograph from Kerry Park, approximately a mile north-west of the Needle.
