Water Flowing, Craig Goch Dam, Rhayader Dams, Elan Valley, Wales - There are four dams on the river Elan, which supply water to Birmingham. Craig Goch the upper dam pictured here is the most attractive of the dams, with an elegantly curved retaining wall. The other dams are the Pen-y-garreg, Garreg Ddu (where the Nantgwyllt Chapel is situated), and Caban Coch (where the visitor centre and car park are located). The river Claerwen has the newest, and largest Claerwen dam, it makes for a dramatic photograph when shot from the small footbridge below.
