Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, although the seat of the government is actually located at The Hague. The city became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century. Amsterdam's main attractions include its historic canals, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Museum, the Anne Frank House, and of course its red-light district. I took this photograph at sunrise at perhaps the most iconic point along the canal system. Interestingly, the lights on the bridge to the right of the frame were not on. I copied the lights from another bridge making sure I kept the correct angle so I could blend them into the picture using Photoshop.
