Skyline, Panorama, Prague, Czechia - Charles Bridge (Karlův most - 2,037 feet long) crosses the Vltava river. Its construction started in 1357 under King Charles IV, and finished in 1402. It was the only bridge crossing the river until 1841. The bridge is decorated with 30 statues, depicting various saints and patron saints venerated at that time. Beginning in 1965, all of the statues have been systematically replaced by replicas, the originals have been exhibited in the Lapidarium of the National Museum. The Old Town Bridge Tower (right) guards one end of Charles Bridge, heralding entrance to the Old Town. On the opposite side of the bridge, is the similar looking Lesser Town Bridge Tower.
